In early May of 2019, E. Formella & Sons Inc, a woman owned Italian specialty company located in Countryside, Illinois, attended SIAL Canada and utilized Food Export – Midwest’s Food Show PLUS!™ services. The provided show services helped the Illinois Supplier gain introductions to qualified buyers and have access to post-show lead qualification from Food Export’s In-Market Representative.
...While the initial meeting took place in 2019, it was not until mid-2020 when the first order shipped. City Club chose to launch E. Formella’s Muffuletta product line in three store locations including Colima, Puebla and Puerta de Hierro, all located in Mexico’s southern region. Randy and Kathy stated “we felt a real sense of accomplishment taking this first step, especially when we received pictures of the product display from each store and learned that the product was featured in City Club’s promotional flyer City Life. We look forward to building a long-term relationship with our importer. Without Food Export programs such as Buyers Missions that bring international buyers to our region, it would be extremely challenging to make these contacts some other way.”
